Objective

Swoops is a 5-on-5 simulation of basketball matches across seasons with the goal of discovering, developing, and constructing the most cohesive lineup to defeat your opponent.

Fill out your lineup with a combination of your own players and ones from the Swoops free agency pool or run your entire squad!

Positions

The way athletes play basketball has evolved over the years. The best teams from the past may not stand a chance against today’s teams given changes in the game.

In Swoops, player positions are more dynamic than the traditional roles of point guard (PG), shooting guard (SG), small forward (SF), power forward (PF), and center (C). We have categorized players into a few different archetypes. It's up to you to discover with categories complement each other.

Chemistry

Chemistry is a factor that defines the compatibility of a player in its current position with its preferred position, the team's formation, the relation with its teammates in other positions and the team manager.
